ABOUT US
FINCH is a film production company working in all facets of the industry, including commercials, television, film and music videos. We make documentaries, live experiences, TV commercials, feature films and digital content. We hold multiple patents and actively develop and license products, innovations and inventions that push the boundaries of conventional storytelling. We co-produced Chef’s Table and Girl’s Can’t Surf, and founded Creatable (addressing equity and access to education) and The Lion’s Share (contributing to conservation).
ABOUT YOU
As a writer, you’ll work with us to tell stories, communicate ideas, and articulate the art of filmmaking.
You will be part of the creative development team, writing and editing various creative documents, especially treatments.
You will work with the directors and creative team on how best to articulate a creative vision through words.
You’ll also need an ear for language, with a strong ability to pick up different genres, tones, and voices.
You will also work on public relations, including website content, press releases and award submissions.
Our tasks are often done quickly, so you will need motivation to complete tasks, solve problems and communicate with our team.
We are looking for someone with experience in copywriting, writing treatments and/or writing about film.
THE DAILY
Write treatments, character biographies, scripts
Work collaboratively with directors to refine and articulate their approach
Edit and proofread your own and others’ writing
Work in a range of genres and tones of voice, including comedy and drama
Write online content and PR copy
Work independently and in groups, depending on the task
Manage your time while working on multiple projects with tight deadlines
Proactively seek feedback and revise work accordingly
Work with us to continue to evolve what we do and how we do it
