  • He installed a GoPro in September after noticing his glass screen kept opening
  • He has a strange feeling in [his] gut ‘and beware of the doll called Mr Fritz
  • The doll is covered with a blanket and a box in chains as her family scares
  • Guess the maker was a ventriloquist before he was taken prisoner

A man is convinced his sinister ancient ventriloquist doll is haunted after CCTV footage showed it flashing.

Michael Diamond, 48, received Mr. Fritz, made by a WWII camp Stalag II-B prisoner who was previously in Germany three months ago.

And Mr. Diamond installed a GoPro late that night on September 19 and 20, after noticing the doll’s display case continued to open.

At least once or twice a week, the door kept coming out of its latch, so he decided to install the camera “for fun”.

Over the course of both evenings, the doors to the striking-looking doll opened.

His heavy eyes, which were initially tightly closed, snap open and the lips open as if the ventriloquist wanted to say something, in the sinister clip.

Mr. Diamond said he had a strange feeling [his] gut ‘which is’ hard to describe’, after replaying the images.

He’s not afraid of Mr. Fritz, but admitted how suspicious he was and kept him locked in his “monster room” full of collectibles. This includes taxidermy animals, skulls, and ancient weapons.

Mr Diamond added how he “got emotionally attached” to his collections and the reason was a “million dollar question.”

While he is married to Sally and has two children, Amber, 19, and Caleb, 11, he wants to give his doll a permanent home.

“I have no idea myself. I don’t even know where to start. There are no open windows in the room and no air circulation. The door is on a latch, so it shouldn’t just open.

He installed a GoPro camera on September 18-19 after noticing the door kept opening and, to his horror, saw the doll blink and open her mouth when he looked at the footage.

“I told Sally and Amber about it and they don’t like it at all. To prevent this from happening, I chained the box and covered it with a blanket.

The father-of-two assumes that the prisoner, who created the doll, worked as a ventriloquist before he was taken prisoner at Stalag II-B.

This camp was one of the first Nazi concentration camps in 1933 for the German Communists and became a prisoner of war camp for the Polish soldiers of Pomorze’s army.

Mr Fritz was reportedly taken to America after the end of the war and belonged to an antique store in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, before arriving in the UK.
