Sesame Street puppeteer’s fortune explored amid workplace abuse allegations

Kevin Clash, Elmo’s former puppeteer sesame street, is now facing allegations of workplace abuse, according to an expose by The Hollywood Reporter. In the original report published on March 17, another Disney Plus puppeteer’ Earth to Ned accused Clash of abusive behavior on set.

According to the puppet wrestler’s account of the post, on his very first day of employment in 2019, he was advised not to approach Clash directly. However, the person later alleged that he was yelled at by Clash, who told him to “shut the f**k up”.

Meanwhile, sesame street director, director and puppeteer Joey Mazzarino said he did not experience any abusive behavior from Clash.

In The Hollywood Reporter’s report, the puppet wrestler alleged that Clash behaved abusively on set. The brawler said,

“…when it comes to wranglers, I’ve been told he tends to be condescending and mean.”

The allegations come after the controversial puppeteer was sued by four people who claimed Kevin Clash had sex with them when they were underage. In 2012, the four plaintiffs filed civil lawsuits against Clash, which denied the allegations at the time. However, after the allegations, Clash resigned from Sesame Workshop and kept a low profile. Later, all cases were thrown out due to the clause expiring after six years.

Following his departure from sesame streetthe former Elmo puppeteer and voice actor has worked on other projects like Netflix’s The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance in 2019. A year later, Clash worked on Disney Plus’ Earth to Ned. According to IMDb, his last engagement was in Apple TV Plus’ fragglerock in 2022.
