Award-winning Skydance Television producer and screenwriter Marti Noxon appoints Maria Grasso president of Tiny Pyro

SANTA MONICA, Calif .– (COMMERCIAL THREAD) – Skydance Television today announced that award-winning producer and screenwriter Marti Noxon, who has a multi-year global development agreement with the company, has appointed Maria Grasso to the newly created role of President of Tiny Pyro, effective immediately . Grasso will report to Noxon and, in his new role, oversee all development of Noxon’s production company, including Skydance’s Dietland, an adaptation of the novel of the same name written by Sarai Walker. Set against the backdrop of the beauty industry, this part character and part revenge fantasy drama will explore society’s obsession with weight loss and beauty in a daring, quirky, and fun way. Tiny Pyro was founded in 2015 and in addition to its current CBS medical drama production Code Black, has several projects in development.

Grasso has extensive experience as a television executive leading development and programming departments in a number of networks and studios, including Lifetime, The WB, Warner Bros and Universal. She has developed and overseen the production of successful series such as Supernatural, Military women, A tree hill and Everwood Wood. At Grasso’s own production company, One-Two Punch Productions, she oversaw projects at high-end outlets such as HBO, AMC, and Amazon, and also served as an executive producer. Find Carter for MTV.
