KGO Job Opportunity: TV News Producer/Editor – Syndicate


KGO-TV/ABC7 News, the ABC-owned television station in San Francisco, is looking for a creative newscaster. We are looking for someone with experience producing dynamic newscasts with story presentation and multiple live elements. You would be responsible for story development with journalists, non-linear desktop editing, booking live guests, writing stories and teases, creating graphics, timing and all other editorial and production material. You must have proven control room experience and expert ability to handle the latest live news. The producer will write stories for the linear TV platform, adapt those stories and produce videos for KGO’s digital/streaming platforms. Expect to contribute story ideas daily and actively participate in coverage decisions and editorial meetings. We are looking for a self-starter and a team player who can collaborate effectively with a wide range of staff to create compelling content across all platforms. Applicants should be active users of social media for news gathering and understand how to leverage these platforms for stories and segments. The candidate must be organized and work well under pressure with constant deadlines.

Must have excellent writing skills, possess sound judgment on news, demonstrate strong communication skills, creativity and ethical decision-making skills. Must have medium to major market grower experience. A four-year college degree and knowledge of the Bay Area is preferred.
